Valeo Site Transformation

PUNCH provided civil, structural and architectural design services, including fire engineering, for this site transformation project which consisted of the upgrade of the existing manufacturing facility at Valeo from an open plan production space to an ISO 7 cleanroom environment. The new cleanroom works included the upgrading of the existing floors to electrostatic discharge floors, new cleanroom liner walls, return air walls, ceiling framing and a new pressurised plenum.

The project was split into phases consisting of three separate cleanrooms of 480m2, 710m2 and 500m2. This phasing allowed the plant to remain fully operational during the works.

The architectural design services encompassed the creation of performance specifications for the cleanrooms, evaluation of supplier design information, and coordination of efforts with the mechanical and electrical designs. This also involved developing a new growing and air shower area.

The structural engineering services involved reassessing the capacity of the existing frames to support the new cleanroom plenum and walk-on ceiling, along with designing a new external AHU platform.

ing scope included evaluating the upgrade works to ensure compliance with building regulations.
