City East Plaza is a prominent office development located on the outskirts of Limerick City. PUNCH has actively participated in every phase of its development since 2003.
The entire project, carried out in 6 phases, encompasses nearly 30,000m2 of office space, with 16,400m2 already constructed across Phases 1-3. PUNCH has successfully managed the planning applications for all six phases so far and has also completed detailed tender and construction designs for Phases 4 and 5.
Phase 3 of the plaza features an eight-story concrete frame structure, covering 7,125m2 and prominently facing the main Limerick to Waterford Road. The upper three floors are set back and feature a lightweight, cantilevered steel canopy that wraps around the building.
The site necessitated a CFA pile foundation paired with in-situ reinforced concrete ground beams. The superstructure comprises in-situ reinforced concrete columns, stair cores, and flat slab construction on each level. A portion of the top floor slab is supported by a lightweight steel frame which has been integrated with the glazing structure to offer minimally obstructed views.
